Strawberry Browser Research Report

Description Rewrite

Strawberry is an AI-powered web browser that integrates intelligent assistants directly into the browsing experience to automate workflows and enhance productivity. Built in Stockholm, Sweden, Strawberry goes beyond traditional browsers by offering AI companions that can autonomously perform tasks, conduct research across multiple websites, and learn user workflows through screen recording demonstrations. Currently in pre-beta, the browser aims to make AI benefits accessible to everyone by bringing automation capabilities into the tool where most people do their work – their web browser.

Deep Service Report

Strawberry Browser represents a fundamental shift in how we interact with the web. Unlike traditional browsers that simply display web content, Strawberry embeds AI agents called “companions” that work alongside users to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows. The browser is built on Chromium, ensuring compatibility with existing web standards while adding a layer of intelligent automation. Users can teach these companions custom workflows by recording their screen actions, creating personalized automation that adapts to individual needs. The platform emphasizes privacy by storing all data locally on user devices and requiring explicit approval before AI actions are executed.

Country

Sweden. Strawberry was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, and the team is currently based there. The company plans to relocate to San Francisco, California in 2025.

Key Features

  • AI Companions: Built-in AI assistants called companions that can be taught custom workflows and tasks through screen recording

  • Automated Research: Ability to simultaneously browse hundreds of websites and extract key information into structured reports

  • Task Automation: Can perform repetitive actions on websites including form filling, data entry, and CRM updates

  • Content Generation: Creates personalized content in the user’s writing style for emails, reports, and social media

  • Meeting Transcription: Automatically transcribes and summarizes meeting audio (Mac only feature)

  • Privacy-First Design: All data stored locally with user approval required for AI actions

  • Screen Recording Learning: Companions learn new tasks by watching user demonstrations

  • Real-time Web Interaction: AI can click buttons, fill forms, and navigate websites autonomously

How It Works

Strawberry operates by embedding AI companions directly into the browser interface. After installation, users interact with their primary companion, typically named Laura, through a conversational interface. The AI can access and understand website content in real-time, allowing it to provide contextual assistance and perform actions on behalf of the user. Users can teach companions new skills by activating a recording mode that captures their screen actions and mouse movements. The AI then learns to replicate these workflows autonomously. For complex tasks, the browser can open multiple AI-controlled tabs simultaneously, with each tab working on different aspects of a larger research or automation project. The system requires user approval before executing actions and maintains transparency about its operations.

Final Thoughts

Strawberry Browser represents an ambitious attempt to reimagine web browsing through AI integration. The concept of teachable AI companions that can learn and replicate user workflows addresses a genuine need for automation in our increasingly digital work environments. The team’s technical expertise and previous entrepreneurial success provide credibility to the project, while their privacy-first approach and local data storage address common concerns about AI tools.

However, the browser remains in pre-beta status, which means users should expect ongoing development and potential stability issues. The pricing model appears reasonable compared to other productivity tools, though the credit-based system may require users to monitor their usage carefully. The competitive landscape is heating up, with major players like Google announcing similar AI capabilities for Chrome, which could impact Strawberry’s market position.

The success of Strawberry will likely depend on execution quality, user adoption rates, and the team’s ability to maintain their innovation edge as larger companies enter the space. For early adopters and productivity enthusiasts, Strawberry offers a compelling preview of how AI might transform our daily digital interactions, though mainstream users may prefer to wait for a more stable release.
